Trippin' on Treacle

I can't believe I let years go by before having Tea and Sympathy's treacle pudding. This weekend I was reminded of how wonderful life could be, just sitting with a friend in a cozy little British tearoom on a kind of cold February evening. The treacle pudding is just a step away from being too sweet, and just a moment away from perfection. The custard poured on top does not take away from the flavor, it simply enhances it. I do recommend that if you have tea with it (I had chamomile lavender herb tea as it was too late for caffeine), you don't need to add sugar - the treacle provides enough sweetener.

There's nothing more to add. Try it sometime, you'll see what I mean.

Prudence called, she wants her conversation style back.
Heehee.
Seriously, though, that treacle is amazing. And that's so true: if you get a sweet dessert, there's no need for sugar in your tea. Did I tell you I don't put sugar in my coffee anymore? It's actually nice w/o it - esp. if the coffee itself is good.
You gotta let me know next time you plan a trip to T&S.

Just doing my "Taking Tea With Catherine" voice, the show that spawned Prudence!

I still can't bring myself to drink unsweetened coffee, it's still blah to me. Glad you can do it, though...maybe now there'll be no more milk in yer Darjeeling, hmm?

For a certaintly I'll be going back to Tea and in June, after my next you know what appointment...but sooner would be just fine with me too.

I remember splitting a treacle with BonBon. Can you imagine such a sin? I remember us devouring it. I haven't had it since then either. Hmm...I'll be in town this week...

Oh yeah and, LOVE the taking tea voice.
